High Performance & Race Driving Instruction

Sarian Motorsports is now offering automobile Performance and Race Driving Instruction during HPR’s standard Open Lapping Days and during Semi-Exclusive/Exclusive/Private days for all levels of track enthusiasts or to help you become a better driver on the street. Sarian Motorsports owner Chris Sarian has been racing for over fifteen years at the amateur and professional levels. He and his team of instructors will be matched to each student based on their current and future on-track goals.

Open Lapping Day Instruction

Private Performance Driving Instruction – Half Day (8:00am – 12:00pm or 1:00pm – 5:00pm)
  • Conversation as to present and future driving goals (performance driving, racing, etc.).
  • Vehicle details/overview.
  • HPR track orientation (use of track map).
  • 3-5 approximate (20-30 minute) driving sessions with instructor in vehicle (dependent on track-day schedule).
  • Basic car control technique as to use of steering, brakes, throttle and shifting.
  • Basic coverage of turn apex identification and track positioning.
  • $395, payable via the Open Lapping Days registration system.
  • Track fees are not included, you must also sign up for either a half day or a full day of Open Lapping.

Private Performance Driving Instruction – Full Day (8:00am – 5:00pm with a 1-hr lunch break)
  • Conversation as to present and future driving goals (performance driving, racing, etc.)
  • Vehicle details/overview.
  • HPR track orientation (use of track map).
  • 7-10 approximate (20-30 minute) driving sessions with instructor in vehicle (dependent on track-day schedule).
  • Basic car control technique as to use of steering, brakes (Intro to heel-toe, trail braking), throttle and shifting.
  • Turn apex identification (early vs. late), understanding of under steer/over steer situations and track positioning.
  • Identify and work on individual, specific areas that need attention.
  • $770, payable via the Open Lapping Days registration system.
  • Track fees are not included, you must also sign up for a full day of Open Lapping.

Helmets must be worn at all times during on-track instruction. You will need to provide your own helmet as rentals are no longer available.  Sarian Motorsports is a dealer for Bell Helmets and OMP Racing Products and can assist you with any and all needed safety equipment.

Each student is responsible for inspecting their car and filling out this Technical Inspection Form no more than 10 days before each day of instruction.

Shortly after you complete your registration, Sarian Motorsports will contact you to provide you with the vehicle inspection sheet and to gather more information about your level of experience and your future driving goals.

Private/Semi-Private Track Instruction

If you would prefer to have your instruction done when you have the track to yourself or as part of a very small group we have that option as well.  This program is available mostly on weekdays when the track is marked as “Available For Rental” on the HPR Calendar.  These days will have a maximum of ten cars in attendance, though it is rarely more than three and it’s possible you will have the place all to yourself!

Private or Semi-Private Sarian Motorsports instruction on one of these daysis available at the following rates:

  • Half day (4 hours), one student, one instructor, $795
  • Full day (8 hours), one student, one instructor, $1490
